Abstract
The LGBTQ community experiences health inequity at a disparate rate to the general population. Research on stigma in policy suggests that policy can be a driver of negative health outcomes when it results in additional stigma to the community. This talk will examine the current state of law and policy for the LGBTQ population, with an emphasis on the transgender and non-binary community. It will also explore current research intended to better understand the impact of these laws on health and how changes would lessen the health burden on this population.
