Abstract
We are aware of the tragedy of jails and prisons serving as our state’s largest mental health providers. Too often, individuals with mental illnesses and substance use disorders in the criminal justice system suffer tragic results. This session discusses the implementation of co-responder units that create partnerships between mental health and social service providers and the criminal justice system.
