Abstract
The Act, known as the Terrell Peterson Act, adds two sections to the Georgia Code. These sections allow a physician to retain temporary protective custody of a child without a court order or parental consent if the physician has reasonable cause to believe the child's life or health is in imminent danger as a result of suspected abuse or neglect.
