Abstract

This Article analyzes the Sanchez-Llamas decision and attempts to ascertain its impact on future Article 36 litigation. Part II specifically discusses the implications of Sanchez-Llamas on previous interpretations of Article 36 by domestic and international tribunals. Part III undertakes an Analysis of the majority and dissenting opinions. Finally, Part IV examines the means of vindicating Article 36 rights provided by the Sanchez-Llamas majority, and considers which remedies will be available for future Article 36 violations
